重要研究與突破

空氣污染/大氣組成成分/氣膠診斷分析:為了增進對於排放源和空氣品質的理解、以及影響空氣品質的化學和物理過程的了解,我們利用衛星遙測、飛機觀測、以及模式模擬來進行分析。衛星觀測方面,分析來自Ozone Monitoring Instrument (OMI)、TROPOspheric Monitoring Instrument (TROPOMI)、MODerate-resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS)等衛星數據,以探討東亞地區大氣污染物(包括SO2、NO2等) 和氣膠的時空變化,以及污染物和氣膠的季節變化與綜觀天氣系統/氣象條件之間的關係。此外,利用TROPOMI衛星資料估算台灣區域性的排放清單,藉此來改善空氣品質的模擬。飛機觀測方面,我們利用由德國布萊梅大學領導、與中央研究院合作的Effect of Megacities on the transport and transformation of pollutants on the Regional and Global scales 亞洲分支(EmeRGe-Asia) 的飛機觀測資料,來探討大氣污染物的傳輸、特徵、與影響。通過整合飛機與台灣地面觀測,有助於更全面地了解台灣西部污染源煙流的運輸和化學特性。

氣膠-雲-氣候交互作用:利用多重感測衛星觀測資料來研究雲特性對氣溶膠含量和大尺度環境條件的敏感性,包括使用長期的 A-Train衛星資料計算氣膠對全球海洋性暖雲的輻射效應(Chen et al., 2014),以及從衛星和飛機觀測的船跡(ship tracks)來探討氣溶膠與雲在不同中尺度雲結構和大氣環境下的交互作用(Chen et al., 2012; 2015)。目前的研究興趣則涵蓋了東亞地區不同天氣系統下的氣膠-雲-氣象交互作用。
