Abstract
Inthis talk, I plan to share my personal experiences working with marinemicrogels, EPS and plastics. As abioengineer working in marine science field, I was blessed with various freshinputs, exciting changelings and new inspirations from marine sciencecolleagues almost every day. Marinemicrogels, EPS and plastics seem very distinct and distant on the surface, butin fact, there are many common principles connecting them together. I will focus on the application ofmechanistic approach to investigate the governing principles for these verydifferent research areas.
