Event: Beyond 1.5°C: Expert Forum on Climate Change Adaptation
Date & Time: July 2, 2025 (Wednesday), 14:00–16:00
Venue: Auditorium, 1st Floor, RCEC, Academia Sinica

Event Overview:
Achieving net-zero emissions is a critical long-term goal in combating climate change. However, recent IPCC reports and scientific findings suggest that mitigation alone is not enough—adaptation actions must proceed in parallel to effectively manage the risks and impacts of a rapidly changing climate.
This expert forum, held as part of the 2025 Academia Sinica Scientific Conference, brings together leading roles from academia, government, and civil society to address one of the most urgent challenges of our time: How can Taiwan accelerate and strengthen its climate adaptation efforts in the face of intensifying risks?
The forum will open with keynote remarks by Distinguished Research Fellow Dr. Huang-Hsiung Hsu, who will outline the scientific urgency and strategic necessity of adaptation in Taiwan’s climate agenda followed by Panel discussions.
